Slip and falls are the most common hazards in the office. Exposed cords, icy parking lots and wet floors are the main causes of slips and falls in the office. There is also the repetitive stress injury that a worker can suffer from. An undeniable fact about most offices is that they now use electronic devices to facilitate the operations of the business. Even though the electronic devices prove to be a good thing to the productivity of the business, it is important to note that by seating all day, then one is negatively affecting their arms, wrists and hands. The damage then causes one to have arthritis which leads to a decrease in the quality of life of an individual.
Eye strain is also a hazard in the office as it is as a result of an individual staring at the computer for a long duration.
Given that the eyes become dry and irritated, then it is certain that one will lose focus. It is possible for this problem to be avoided if the workers consider having breaks from the computer from time to time. By considering the breaks, then it is certain that the workers will be more effective which will lead to the productivity of the business going up significantly. It is also important for an individual to know that there being poor equipment in the office is also a chance for injuries in the office. There is hence the need for an individual to get adjustable desks or if one does not want to stand, then the chair should provide good support for the right posture.
Electrical injuries are prone to happen because of the many present electrical devices in the office. Shocks and burns are as a result of electrical injuries. There is hence the need for employees to be trained on how they should treat the plugs and power outlets that are in the office. There is also the need for one to make sure that the wiring in the office has been done correctly. Consequently, if one spots any hazard in the office then they need to have it rectified. This will be so much helpful as there will be no injuries that the workers will experience in the office.
